Customer Objective
Install a modern country-style kitchen with light grey Shaker cabinetry, dark granite worktops, and a large central island with oak butcher-block top.
Scope of Work
- Removal of existing kitchen
- Installation of light grey Shaker-style base and wall units
- Fitting and sealing of dark granite worktops and splashback
- Construction of central island with oak butcher-block worktop
- Installation of 5-burner gas hob and stainless steel chimney extractor
- Installation of built-in double oven and microwave in tall housing
- Fitting of floor-to-ceiling pantry with integrated wine rack
- Installation of stainless steel sink with mixer tap
- Fitting of white tongue-and-groove wall panelling
Challenges
Every kitchen installation presents its own set of practical challenges. For this project in Bristol, the key considerations were:
- Granite was templated incorrectly on one of the runs, requiring re-templating
- Some cabinet doors arrived damaged and had to be reordered, causing a two-week delay
- Working around exposed wooden ceiling beams while fitting upper cabinetry
How We Handled It
Base units were levelled individually before the granite worktops were measured and cut
Replacement doors were ordered and fitted once delivered
Upper cabinets were carefully positioned to work with the existing beam structure
